Bizzarrini's advanced ideas emerged again with the superb Bizzarrini P538S, P for posteriore, 53 for the 5300 cc Corvette engine, 8 for 8V engine and S for Sportcar. The first V-12 car was ordered by USA racer Mike Gammino.

This ultra low barchetta raced in the 1966 Le Mans (DNF) and was entered in 67 even but did not start (DNQ). In 1966, after a spin at the very start line, it lasted less than a half an hour and retired by a cracked oil pipe. During the short race time, the P538 was clocked as one of the fastest cars down the Mulsane straight.

In 1968, Giugiaro rebodied one of the P538 as the famous Bizzarrini Manta. After some years in Sweden, it was dismantled for an extensive restoration. Later featured in various classics cars events, it now resides in USA.

The Bentley Hunaudières is a concept car built by Bentley for the 1999 Geneva Salon International de l'Auto. It is powered by a Volkswagen 8.0-litre, naturally-aspirated, W16 engine that generates 623 brake horsepower (465 kW; 632 PS) of power at 6,000 revolutions per minute and 760 newton metres (560 ft·lbf) of torque at 4,000 revolutions per minute in conjunction with a five-speed manual transmission. It is capable of a 350 kilometres per hour (220 mph) top speed.

The Hunaudières' name pays homage to the famous straight of Circuit de la Sarthe where Sir Tim Birkin in a "Blower Bentley" overtook Rudolf Carraciola in a Mercedes-Benz SSK at 125 miles per hour (201 km/h) with one wheel on the grass down the Hunaudières straight.

The Bentley Arnage is a luxury car produced by Bentley Motors in Crewe, England. The Arnage and its Rolls-Royce-branded sibling, the Silver Seraph, were introduced in the Spring of 1998 and were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980.

Another break from the past was to be found under the bonnet, for decades home to the same 6.75 L V8, a powerplant which could trace its roots back to the 1950s. The new Arnage was to be powered by a BMW V8, with Cosworth-engineered twin turbo installation, and the Seraph was to employ a BMW V12.

The Arnage is over 5m long, almost 2m wide, and has a kerb weight of more than 2.5 metric tonnes. For a brief period it was the most powerful and fastest four-door sedan on the market.

Artega GT








Artega GT

The Artega GT is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive 2-seat sports car produced by German manufacturer Artega Motors. The GT is currently Artega's first and only model for sale.

First shown as a mock up at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show; the Artega GT debuted a year later at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. The car is designed by Henrik Fisker, the man also responsible for Aston Martin's DB9.

The two seater has an aluminum space frame and carbon fiber reinforced body for a light curb weight of approximately 1,100 kg (2,425 lb). The engine is a Volkswagen-sourced direct injection 3.6 L (3597 cc) V6 producing 300 hp (220 kW) and 350 N·m (260 lb·ft) mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is expected to be under five seconds, with top speed estimated to be over 270 kilometres per hour (170 mph).[2]

The Artega GT retails for approximately €75,000. Production is limited to roughly 500 units per year.

Artega is a recently established German sports and luxury auto producer based in Delbrueck, Germany. The Artega GT was released at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. It was previously thought that another sports car producer was the last thing that the auto industry needed given the economic downturn of late 2008 and early 2009 in which new car sales decreased cataclysmically, but Klaus Dieter Frers announced at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show that Artega was investing in a possible solar-powered concept vehicle to compete with the Tesla Roadster and Fisker Karma. Henrik Fisker, who also designed the Aston Martin DB9, contributed to the design of the Artega GT. The coupe borrows styling from both Porsche and Ferrari. Artega Motors has a close relationship with Volkswagen, Europe's largest automobile producer and the worlds third producer behind Toyota and General Motors (January 2009). The GT is currently the only model produced by Artega Motors.
